G. David Brown
G. David Brown is a retired medical illustrator with over 40 years of experience in the field, having produced work for print, animation and video productions. He consulted on 1,300 craniofacial surgeries and produced over 4,000 medical-legal illustrations for medical malpractice, personal injury and product liability cases. He is a Professor Emeritus of Illustration at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina, where he created the illustration program with 14 new courses. He ran that BFA illustration program for 15 years. Brown earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard University in Visual and Environmental Studies with an emphasis in film animation and the psychology of perception. He obtained his masters degree in medical illustration from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Dallas, and served for four years on the graduate faculty of the Department of Biomedical Communications. In retirement, his primary artistic interests are in plein air work.
